A little story about TOKË
My journey began where
beauty was sold in elegant jars.
At fifteen, I completed
my first training program at a perfumery on Zurich's Paradeplatz. Day after day,
I advised people on the most exclusive skincare products – creams
worth up to CHF 2,200. This world fascinated me.
I thought beauty seemed to be something one could buy.
After every training session and
product launch, I took new skincare products home. Most of all,
I looked forward to giving them to my mother. I wanted her to
experience that little touch of luxury too.
But one evening, my view
of skincare changed forever.
I came home and saw her
lovingly massaging her feet with a cream worth over CHF 1,200.
Puzzled, I asked her:
"Mom, why are you using a face cream for your feet?"
She smiled and calmly
replied:
"I don't care what it costs. It stings my eyes."
I explained that there was
a special eye cream for that. But she looked at me and said something I
will never forget:
"If it burns my eyes, why would it be good for the rest of my skin?"
That moment stayed with me.
Not because of the cream.
But because of the honesty of that simple question.
It never left me.
In 2017, I began to see plants, oils, and
waxes with new eyes. In the Bernese Oberland, I had the opportunity to learn from a
farmer how traditional salves and creams are made. It was
only a single day – but sometimes a day is enough to be the beginning of something
great.
I started to experiment,
to learn, and to develop countless formulas. At first, I only made my
products for myself. Later, I sold them in my yoga studio
and through my small webshop. Without much advertising, they found their way from
person to person.
With every jar I filled,
the conviction grew that skincare doesn't have to be complicated. It can be
honest. Natural. And versatile.
In 2023, I made the decision to have
my protected formulas produced in a specialized laboratory in Germany
to combine the highest quality with artisanal care. A year later, I traveled to China, personally met my producers,
and visited the production facilities for my packaging. I
wanted to understand every single step – because I am convinced that
trust is built when you look closely yourself.
That's how Tokë came to be.
Tokë means Earth in Albanian.
A name that reminds me every day
where it all began.
My products deliberately do not carry an anti-aging promise.
Because I don't believe in fighting against life. The skin can be given a boost of moisture several times a day.
Every wrinkle tells a story of a
smile, a worry, a journey, or a lived moment. It is not a
flaw, but part of our history.
I long for skincare that
doesn't work against time, but with it.
Skincare that nourishes instead of covers.
Skincare that treats the skin
the way we ourselves want to be treated – with respect, patience, and love.
That's exactly what Tokë stands for.
